I Create Original Art
I used my own ideas in my work by combining the queen of hearts from the movie, Alice and the Wonderland, and the queen of hearts card. In doing this, I created an idea that nobody in my class used and morphed two similar but completely different objects. A source I used was pinterest where I found many other objects that were morphed and saw that some people morphed famous paintings with cartoon characters from movies. My class mates were also a source of inspiration as they throw out ideas, I wrote them down on our brainstorming list. My classmates mentioned about merging something with a playing card thinking of with something magic but I ended switching out the queen of hearts.
I Solve Problems
When I was making the queen of hearts, I decided that I was going to make it into a stencil. One problem though was when I tried to make all the colors of the queen's dress black and white, no white showed up, only black. With doing so, I decided I was going to make all the colors, so I created a bunch of small lines, tracing the lines of my drawing, cutting out the section of all the colors but the white. The problem with this, is when I spray paint this, the paint would leak, so I ended up using a sponge to paint the paint on the stencil. This ended up not working out really well either, but it probably would have if I didn't make the paint so thick. I was worried before the project that the paint would leak in this way to, so I ended up taping the stencil down the same way I would for spray painting this. I also ended up using a sharpie to trace the lines because the lines didn't turn out as defined as I was hoping they would.
